Poi Rakua

Here is a video of me and Ella doing our own Poi Rakua routine. For maori we had to make our own poi rakua routine and film it for our blog. 

I think we could have been cleaner with our passes and got our timing better but over all we did pretty well.

Te wiki o Te Moari

 This week is Maori learning week so I made a animation of some kupu you can find at the netipaoro/ netball courts. 

if you slowly click through you will see the animation come to life with the kupu and there translation when they come on to the screen. I choose the netball courts because i go there a lot and I thought it would be good to learn some new kupu to add to my vocabulary. I think I did a pretty good job putting together this animation and the choice of kupu was quite simple and easy to learn. I do think that I could have added more moving items but I think I did pretty well for my first animation on slides. 

if you made an animation where would you do it ands what are some kupu you would use to teach others some Te Reo Maori? 

The Majestic Matariki Kites

 Hello bloggers This term we have been learning about the amazing event of Matariki the Maori new year that took place on July 2. We combined the two books about Matariki that we read the seven kites of Matariki and together in love the legend of Matariki. 

We made the kites in rainbow just like ururangi did and put Tawhrirmmatea

on the kite to represent the other story of Matariki.

The big build 🏗️👷

 Hey bloggers I am back and this week we had to build a table the could hold a book for 3 seconds. We did it in groups of 5. I had Ella.D, Isla, Brooke and Pandora. we wanted to do a table that had 4 legs at each corner and one in the middle but we ran out of tape and didn't finish ours in time and ended up getting DQ.

I think we did really well but we could have been more careful with the amount of tape we used. 

What type of table would you have used?

The Matariki stars

 Hey bloggers, the past few weeks we have been learning about Matariki and the Maori new year.

Since Matariki is coming up on 2 of July we thought it would be fun to do a Matariki art piece. 

We did foam printing. Foam printing is when you draw on foam and coat the foam in ink and transfer it onto paper. I drew a random mountains range but you can draw whatever mountains you want. 

The steps to make the foam printing art are simple.

Step 1: draw your design on a piece of paper(remember to do it backwards for it to come out the right way)

Step 2: once you are happy with you drawing then draw you work and keep it backwards on to your foam with a ball point pen and don't pierce it of it will show up.

Step 3: then put your ink on the foam and make sure you use a lot.

Step 4: once done putting on the ink place in face up on a table and put the paper on top and smooth the paper out .

Step 5: rub the paper on to the foam and then slowly peel the paper away from the foam.

Step 6: then let your art work dry and if you want you can wash the foam and make more art work.

To make the frame you get an A3 piece of paper and cut out the size of the foam from the middle and then boom you've got your frame.

I really like the color and design of mine but i could have made my lines a little deeper and used more ink.

The Genie Is Here

 Salaam and good day to you Bloggers and welcome to the fabled place of my blog post.  Yesterday I drew this pixel art of the genie for a task we had to do a pixel art of our favourite character and of course I did the Genie.  I am know doing one of Aladdin and Genie.  I choose Genie because I am the Genie in our Aladdin. If you had to do a pixel art who would you do?

The eggcelent egg drop.🥚🍳

 Hola bloggerinos, this week on Wednesday we did a  it's pyramid seeing if you could stop an egg from cracking when I hit the ground from a 3 1/2 meter drop. My drop failed because we did't prep for the drop impact. we could have padded the bag and filled it with air it could have saved the egg.

what would you do to save the egg from cracking 

Keeping Others Safe

This is a task we finished a comic/ cartoon the way that we think is the best to keep others safe. 

In the first one there is a group of boys that try to make the other s leave and scare them into it and pushed one of them over but I made it finish with the boy saying it is a public court and he cant make us leave then checs in on his friend.

Then in the second one the girl keeps getting left out for having a lazy eye but her friend ends up inviting her to come with her and the other girls so she is not left out  

 

little Lego Makenzie

 Hello bloggers on the first day the teachers made us turn a Lego person outline in to ourselves.

I put my Lego person in my favourite Friends jumper with some silver three quarter leggings witch i wear all the time. I made my Lego person bare foot because I usually I am and I didn't know what pair of shoes to draw because I wear all the different types of shoes. i made the background gold because I LOOOOVE the color gold.

Pink Blue and Purple Acid Trend Teacher Intro Video by Makenzie Disher

Hey blogger, This week we also had to make an all about me video so her is mine.

I love lots of different things but if i included all of them this video would be around 1 hour, I don't think you wold be interested for that long to see my favourite hobbies and foods and sports and so on.

I enjoyed doing this it was super cool and fun to tell other about myself.

My pepeha

 this week we each had to do our own pepeha. 

we had to include info about our selves like our parents names and our mountain. 

I worked hard on mine,i also got my mum to help with the mountain river and iwi. 

but the rest i did all on my own.

i think itis so cool that we can do fun progects like this for school work i love this stuff

 hey bloggers last week we were at camp and I had many moments that I love but these are my two top memories that shall stay in my head forever. 

I think I could have encourage my team and work a lot more and worked more as a team 

but with Kaia's fall there was no need for anything to change from that
